Heading to Porto in early November for a couple of days and am looking to book a guided cruise of the six bridges. However, it looks like they don’t run until April again. Does that sound right? Anyone know if they operate in early November?
The 6 bridges cruise runs both during summer and winter, unless weather conditions are so bad that boats are not allowed to navigate. Leaving here a link to one of them, but there are plenty others. As far as I know they all cost the same, 15euros per person, and they all do the same time, 50 minutes.
This website seems to indicate that the Six Bridges tour also operates in the winter months - https://www.livingtours.com/6-bridges-cruise.html . I quite enjoyed the tour and it was a good opportunity to get pictures of both sides of the river from the water. Be sure your camera has fresh batteries and a large memory card!
I'm almost never negative about Portugal, as we love visiting, but the Six Bridges Cruise was not our favourite time in Porto. It is about the only time I've felt hustled. We were placed on a boat for a long period of time before it took off, and then were taken to sit at another stop until the boat took on a few more people. We also had to watch a couple get kicked off, who had obviously bought a ticket, but the ticket seller couldn't remember doing so. The views were pretty, but we sat in port for longer than the river cruise.
