Sintra to Évora - Which transfer station?

Hello Fellow Travelers,

I'm in the process of checking transportation details for our upcoming trip to Portugal.

My daughter and I will be traveling from Sintra to Évora via train.

According to cp.pt, we'd have to transfer from the Urbano train to an Intercidades train at Entrecampos, however, the previous stop on the route is at the Sete Rios station.

When I check cp.pt, it looks like the train to Évora originates at the Oriente Station, then it backtracks to Entrecampos and Sete Rios.

Which station would you prefer to wait for the train, Entrecampos or Sete Rios?
Neither of these two stations look particularly inviting when I check them out on google maps.

Should we just take an earlier train to Oriente Station?

Thanks!

Priscilla

I would suggest just going with whichever one gives you the best connection times. None of the train stations are great places to spend a lot of time, IMO. Oriente has the advantage of a nice mall across the street, but the station itself isn’t that interesting.

Thanks Kathryn!

The main reason for my question is because I don’t want to end up in a deserted station, or in an unsafe area of the city.

I had my share of deserted train stations, when traveling solo in Italy, and I’d rather avoid them, if at all possible.

Thanks!

I’ve never seen a deserted train station in Lisbon or Porto, as so many people use the trains. And, you can relax about the safety of Portugal - e

Sorry, last post was incomplete.

Portugal is consistently rated in the top 5 safest countries in the world! The only dangers here are the pickpockets, so watch your belongings in crowded areas, on the metro, buses and trams. But, no worries about safety otherwise.
