I plan to enter Pena Palace with 9:30 interior ticket, walk through the gardens to Lakes entrance, walk to Moorish Castle and do the full wall walk, take the Vila Sassetti path (45min) down to town and finally poke around town for a bit. What should I expect for a time frame? Quinta da Regaleira began instituting timed entry tickets last week, so I am trying to figure out what time to purchase. Looking at the ticket availability for today, it seems I should be able to buy them 3 hours ahead and be fine. How is the internet service from up on the hills, if I want to purchase the ticket say when we arrive at Moorish and have a better sense of timing for the afternoon?

Give yourself as much time as possible and aim for QR in the late afternoon (you can see it in 2 hours). The map they provide for Pena Park is pretty useless, and we got pretty lost and squandered precious time. Also allow time for refreshments. We packed a picnic that worked well in Pena Park, but by the time we got to the Moorish Castle we needed another break. We did not get down to Sintra town until mid afternoon. If you manage to get down earlier, take the time to rest a bit before continuing onto QR. It's a lot of walking.
