Does anyone know if the above company has ceased doing business in Sintra? We have used CS buses in several cities in Europe and found them to be comfortable and a good option to view the sights with the option to visit some of them too. We will be staying three nights in Sintra in mid-March in a hotel near the train station and are reviewing what sights we will visit.
We are both 70 ish and although walking several miles a day while traveling has never been a problem, I am recovering from a severe broken ankle now four weeks post-surgery and will not be fully able to walk until early January. Other than residual swelling , I should be good to walk by then and we plan to avoid sites with many stairs, steep climbing, slippery surfaces, etc. so we are cherry picking the site we plan to see.
Any information about City Sightseeing would be appreciated as well as suggestions as to what sites we should not plan to visit.
I'd wait to decide on transportation until you get to Sintra. You may decide that you want to do UBER some other combination of transportation. Ask for suggestions at the place you are staying and try to get a sense of how busy Sintra is and how crowded the buses are.
HOHO bus in Sintra.

Sintra is on an mountain, there are steep inclines and stairs at several locations.
Avoid the castle ( Castelo dos Mouros ) and the Initiation Well at Quinta da Regaleira.
The town of Sintra itself is very small and on the side of a hill. Maybe you should do as we did and hire a guide and driver for the day. She took us to the Estate and Botanical Gardens of Monserrate versus the castle (we did that on our own and I wouldn’t suggest if you’re having trouble walking) out to Cabo de Roca and down to the beach where we had a wonderful lunch.
I was asking about City Sightseeing HOHO company. I know they operate in Porto and Lisbon.
With Scotturb on Routes 434 and 435, if used on both routes it would be similar to City Sightseeing, but on city transit buses.
Do Routes 434 and 435 Buses operate from early in the morning into late in he night?
On the Scotturb site menu click Help Center , it has the answers to your questions ( times, etc).
The only HOHO bus in Sintra is run by Scotturb.
Scotturb used to run several transit routes in Cascais/Sintra área but presently they only run the 2 HOHO routes in Sintra.
The regular transit buses are run by Carris Metropolitana
