I would like to buy a Portuguese SIM card for my phone. It's certianly the least expensive way to go. My old phone does not use e-sims.
An suggestions for one Portuguese phone company to buy from? Or all they pretty much the same. I would like to hear your experiences.
Vodafone Travellers is the easiest.
They have stores all over including one at the Lisbon airport.
There is a Vodafone kiosk right after baggage claim. When you exit turn right. You will see the kiosk in the main hall. I know several people who have purchased Sim cards there with no difficulty. Vodafone is one of the major carriers in Portugal.

I used the Vodafone SIM suggested above and it worked perfectly in Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto, with a few day trips beyond those.
A few questions:
How long will you be in Portugal?
Who is your US cell provider?
How important is it for you to maintain your US phone number while abroad? (eg. business)
