We arrive in Lisbon, then return there to fly home a couple of weeks later, and prefer a private car or shuttle between the airport and our hotel near Praça Figueira. Our flight home leaves early am, 7:25. Any recommendations for the companies you have used? Online reviews are all over the place, from wonderful to terrible.

My hotel in downtown Lisbon arranged a cab for me the evening before my 6 AM flight. It arrived on time, was inexpensive and got to airport quickly. I don’t see a need for shuttle or private car in Lisbon.

Thank you. Can anyone give advice for the trip from the airport to our hotel? No public transportation please, because we aren’t young anymore and need help with our bags.

Lisbontaxi.com is a very good company with excellent service. You email them for a quote and they are responsive quickly. I’ve used them several times with good results.

Not sure if you left yet but we just returned. Signed up with the USA government STEP program and were informed that a taxi strike was starting Wednesday September 19. We were in Porto and fortunately had a two block walk downhill to the train station. When we arrived in Lisbon we knew better than to wait in the taxi line! We took a local bus within a block of our hotel. Left Friday September 21 and taxis were still on strike. Our hotel had connections with a shuttle service, although we left early to accommodate crazy busy shuttle schedules all worked well. So call the hotel, they can make arrangements you need and sign up for alerts in the STEP travel program.

I agree with Brittney above. UBER!!! if you have a smart phone, sign up before you leave. Use the free Wifi at the airport to call your driver, you pay with your CC attached to the app. Less than $10 airport to hotel for us. No worries about exact change, tip through the app, if you want to. Just know where to find your UBER, they will meet you in the "Kiss & Fly" lot on the Departures level, NOT with the rest of the taxis on the arrivals level. No need for any foreign data plan.
