Our flight to San Miguel from Boston, Ma has a 2 hour layover in Lisbon. The trip is already long and tiring. We are wondering if we should stay in Lisbon to rest and visit Lisbon. Has anyone else done this? Is it worth staying for a few days?

Lisbon is wonderful! I would highly recommend a stopover of a few days, if possible. Great food, interesting sights. If you stay for a few days, you could make an easy day-trip out to Sintra by train, which I would HIGHLY suggest. It's magical.
We spent 5 nights in Lisbon (including a day trip to Sintra) and loved it!!! I wish we had an extra night. Lisbon is wonderful for walking and exploring the different neighborhoods. And there are many interesting sites, such as museums, castle, churches, Jeronimos Monastery in Belem, the Discoveries Monument. I recommend purchasing a guidebook for Lisbon. It's a wonderful city. I would love to return.
