Has anyone been to this park? I was wondering if it was worth taking a day or two from our 10 day trip to visit. We wish to see more of the countryside than museums, etc. We were planning to fly into Lisbon, drive to Porto (sightseeing along the way), spend a few days in Porto then drive to the Duoro Valley region and stay somewhere there for a few days (any suggestions where to stay). Afterwards drive back to Lisbon (detours to sight see expected), spend a few days there and one or two nights in Sintra, then fly back out of Lisbon. Any suggestions? Thank you in Advance.

We will skirt the edge of it on our upcoming April trip to Portugal. We are staying a night at a BnB in Piodao. Adorable. Google "Portugal Schist Villages". Also Julie Dawn Fox's website is helpful if you haven't found that. She had an article with pictures of the villages. I think most, perhaps all, are in the Serra da Estrela.
