Seeking input on itinerary Lisbon/Porto/Cascais

We’re currently planning our trip and have a total of 9 nights in the area: 3 nights in Lisbon upon arrival, 3 in Porto, 2 in Cascais, and 1 final night in Lisbon before our flight. I’m wondering if 2 nights in Cascais might be too many. Perhaps we should consider giving an extra night to Porto to allow for a day trip from there.

Originally, we were drawn to Cascais because we love seaside towns. We thought it would be fun to bike to nearby beaches and viewpoints (maybe with e-bikes). However, after thinking it over, we wonder if it is compact enough that we could enjoy it in just one night: arriving around midday, spending the afternoon and evening there, then staying overnight. The next morning, we could enjoy a bit more time, have the hotel store our luggage after check-out, and still make the most of the town before heading on.

We will be going in July. We are not sure if we would go Lisbon-Cascais-Porto-Lisbon, or Lisbon-Porto-Cascais-Lisbon.

I thought Cascais was underwhelming and I wouldn't bother moving for a night. In fact if you enjoying biking, it's an easy 1.5 hour bike ride from Lisbon and might make a nice daytrip.

I enjoyed Cascais, only visited by train from Belem. Great restaurant called Mana, if you are there in the evening. Also if you ride the train to Cascais, and get off the stop just before Cascais at Estoril, its a great seaside promenade walk to Cascais, maybe 1/2 to 3/4 mile. Very pleasant! I would actually like to Cascais a little more, and plan to do so this May.

Thanks! I really need to commit to booking some accommodations for this trip but keep waffling on where we want to go. Now I am looking at Sesimbra as well for our last two nights. Too many places and not enough time! :-)
