Saying please in Portuguese

Are “por favor” and “se faz favor” interchangeable, or is there a reason I should use one instead of the other? The few guidebooks I’ve looked at for Portugal list “por favor,” but the online language course I’m taking (for European Portuguese) teaches “se faz favor.”

Both forms are correct but Por Favor is easier to pronounce, more frequent, and good for all situations.

After living here four years - I hear ‘por favor’ consistently.

"Por favor" is definitely easier to pronounce! I just wasn't sure if one form was more appropriate than the other.

Thanks!
