Very sad to hear that (storm) Lorenzo caused damages to the Azores. We fly to San Miguel Island next week. I realize that the island was less impacted than other areas of the Azores. Any updates to share? Obrigada

Our cousins who live on Santa Maria and Sao Miguel said they only had higher than normal winds, so if you are only visiting Sao Miguel, it will be fine.
Flores, where we have other family, was hit hard as were some of the other central islands. They have much to repair anywhere along the ocean and especially in the harbor at Lajes das Flores, which needs to be totally rebuilt.
