Just left Salema after 2 1/2 days. It’s pretty much as advertised in the Rick Steves Portugal book. Some exceptions: Unlike the restaurants in the rest of Portugal, the Salema restaurants fill up by 7 pm. They take reservations and you’ll need one. The showers under the Atlantico Restaurant are no longer operating. A check of weather and ocean conditions showed that it’s less windy and the water is warmer further east in the Algarve. Apparently, that the usual case and not particular to our stay. Water temp July 10, 2023 in Salema was 70F with a constant north wind. Air temp was about 90F with low humidity.
