Saldanha Plaza in Lisbon

I will be traveling to Lisbon in late October. I've seen on Trip Advisor and other sites some reasonably priced hotels in the Saldanha area. Does anyone out there who is familiar with Lisbon have an opinion about staying there? My husband and I are comfortable taking public transportation. Any insights will be appreciated.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Lisbon in this area. It is a safe, walkable neighborhood with lots of great restaurants. Three that I can recommend, Fabrica dos Sabores and Prazeres da Picanha are worth visiting. The third, if you are in the mood for excellent burgers, is Hamburgueria do Tecnyco.

If you want a really intriguing place to visit during the evening for drinks, and near the Restauradores metro, go to Pavilhão Chines. I doubt it is any many guidebooks, but it is well worth your time, even by taxi.
