We are thinking of taking the RS Best of Portugal trip in June 2018. Any advice/suggestions? Also, I have briefly looked at the airfare from Houston to Lisbon and it seems expensive-any suggestions how to reduce this expense, so we can more afford the tour? Thanks!

It is not looking to good but try to search to buy the first leg to Europe the closest to Lisbon (for example Houston to London or Paris or Madrid separately). I have saved money that way.
Or you got to the buy Houston to Lisbon asap before the already high prices go up further.

We fly from SFO so I checked on cheapoair.com and found flights from Houston to Lisbon for under $1,000. That seems reasonable to us on the west coast. Although I use cheapoair for prices, I book directly through the airlines. Good luck in your search!

Checked Expedia. Showing flights on United Houston to Lisbon in June for $700-850
Aer Lingus had great prices too when, I bought my June Lisbon Tickets.

Thanks so much for your help-when I first looked at airfare on google flights I was only found $2,000 round trip each!
However, things have changed, so we are now on the Best of Sicily tour in April. Now, I need to find airfare for Palermo and out of Catania. Next year hopefully we can go to Portugal!

You can do Portugal on our own.
However, if you want a wonderful experience, take a Douro River cruise (in northern Portugal) for a week.
