Reserving train seat on Comboios Portugal

RafaFan - I also ran into the same issue last night when I was booking advance promotional fare tickets. The website doesn't seem to allow you to change your seats. We're traveling by train throughout our 15 day trip late April/early May 2023, and I think there is a limit to the number of promotional fare tickets you can purchase. It's a little frustrating. Any advice is welcome!

I never tried to change my seat after a CP purchase, but I was able to choose a seat as part of the purchase process.

If you want to change your seat in the App, see the carriage diagram for the seats you have been attributed. If you want to change seats you must select the seat you have been given and then choose the one you want from among the available seats in any carriage. Once the confirmation is made, is not possible to make further changes.

From my recollection, they assign you a seat when you first choose your train, at which point you can choose a different seat ("choose the one you want ...." in their language above.) I believe that when they say "Once the confirmation is made ..." they are saying that once you've chosen a seat (or skipped past that step) and eventually made your purchase, you can't change your seat.

Perhaps a helpful station agent could make the change on your day of travel....?

If you will be buying any additional CP tickets, after you select the specific train, you'll see a map of the carriages and seats. There will be one that is grayed out - the seat they've pre-assigned to you. I recall that (not intuitively) you first click on the seat they've pre-assigned to you, then click on the seat you wish to have, which will then be highlighted. You can continue to make changes on that screen, but not after.
