Renting Via Verde transponder

In April, we are leasing a French car, picking it up in Madrid, and driving a huge loop that includes Portugal. We need to rent a Via Verde transponder for the time we are driving in Portugal. Does anyone know how/where to do this? We plan on entering Portugal from the north.

I would ask the car rental agency. As I’ve only picked up a car in Portugal, it’s already been in the car.

If it’s a lease and not Auto Europe, they might be able to give you some answers as they are US based. If the French company isn’t helpful.
