I am looking to hire a car in Porto for 9 days to tour the countryside. There seem to be many rental cars with bad reviews, who did you choose? Also, a lot of the companies have hidden fees that seem to double the price when you actually get to the counter. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks

Auto Europe is a consolidator I’ve used for many years with excellent results. The company that seems to be the cheapest in Portugal is Europcar. I’ve rented from them through Auto Europe a number of times since moving to Portugal and have always been pleased.
