Hello, We will rent a car in Portugal for 13 days this fall. We have done so in the past, and chosen insurance (at the car rental agency in Lisbon) based on what we understood would be the best and broadest coverage, since our US car insurance doesn't cover car rentals in foreign countries. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Get a Credit Card that insures you for CDW; saves a lot of $ as coverage is very expensive.
You'll also have to get a Transponder for driving on electronic toll roads.
