How Many Stops Should We Schedule Between Lisbon and Sintra for Day Trip?

We have a driver/guide driving us from Lisbon to Sintra in late June. What worthwhile stops/towns do you recommend we see along the way? We'll leave Lisbon at 8am and need to arrive in Sintra around 3pm so trying to prioritize the best stops, i.e. Cacsais, Estoril, Guincho, Cabo da Roca? We'd love a nice seaside lunch along the way and don't want to overschedule the itinerary!

Not certain I’m understanding your question. Sintra is a 30 minute drive from Lisbon, so not certain why you are thinking it will take so long. The places you mention are quite nice between the two cities but I would just day trip to Cascais, Estoril, Guincho while in Lisbon rather than spend the money for a driver. It’s also very easy to travel between all these places (other than Guincho and Caba da Roca) by train.

Lisbon to Sintra is 20 miles, so presumably you have hired the driver/guide to take the 'scenic route'.?

If he truly is a guide, he should be able to suggest an itinerary, or two, to fill the time and hit the places you list.

You can easily take public transit from Lisbon to Sintra. Once in Sintra then take the bus up to the Palace. When you exit the train station the buses are literally right there. It's super easy and probably will save you money. It's really not a far trip at all as others have said so no need to leave at 8 if you need to be there at 3.
