Daniel Ferreira, who has his own company, Terra D'Alma, was the perfect guide for the Douro Valley. We spent the day with him, as he took us to little towns we wouldn't have known about. . He really listened to us to learn what we wanted to hear about and see. He was personable and friendly, but sensed when we wanted to be silent with the scenery. He gave us a real view of life in Portugal today and was open about the rewards and challenges of living in Portugal that gave us real insights on the country. We had just a wonderful time! We had Daniel Ferreira as well, based on recommendations from this forum, and we were so happy to have spent the day with him! This is more than just a business to him, because he lives in the Douro Valley and is not only very knowledgeable of the area, but also very proud of it. I shared his contact information in other areas of this forum. We were so grateful to not be disappointed as first timers.
