We are visiting Porto in early October, planning to take the train to Pinhao and stay overnight at a quinta. Any recommendation for boat trips? restaurants?

We did a wonderful 7 day cruise on the Douro in 2016. Loved the very scenic river valley. Can't help you on recommendation for restaurants. I would recommend going up river as far as you can. We loved our day trip to Salamanca, Spain.
