Recommendations for a week in Madeira in January?

Hi All Any recommendations for a week in Madeira in January? Probably won't have a car, but would like to take day tours to walk some levadas (which ones?) and public transport or day tours to other parts of the island. I like botanical gardens, museums of culture, art, history, and of course food Thanks
