I will be traveling along the coast from Lisbon down to the Algarve in October. I would like to spend a couple of nights in one of the villages along the west coast and use that as a base to visit the beaches. Am considering Vila Nova de Milfontes or maybe Odeceixe. Any suggestions for villages and also lodging would be really helpful. Thanks!

October can be sunny, but I have also experienced torrential rain, so it may not be beach weather.
I like Zambujeira do Mar on this coastline, with its sandy caves backed by small cliffs. I haven’t stayed there, so can’t recommend any accommodation, but I have had lunch and visited a couple of times.
