Rate my itinerary

Here is my itinerary for Portugal, family of 4 from Canada, first time in Portugal.
We plan on renting a car from the 4th until the 11th. Pick up in Porto, drop off in Lisbon.
Do you see any issues? Possible changes/tweaks to make it better? Nearby alternatives?
We are looking for a mixture of highlights combined with not too touristy small towns and countryside.

July 1-4: , Porto
July 4-6: , Pinhão
July 6-8: , Manteigas (National Park)
July 8-9: , Tomar
July 9-11: , Baleal
July 11-14: , Lisbon (day trip to Sintra)

It looks like a wonderful plan. Though if it were me I would definitely swap Baleal (Peniche) for Ericeira. Boa viagem.

Great, thanks for the suggestion! Any reason why you would change to Ericeira? I chose Baleal to, thinking we might avoid tourist crowds in the summer (early July).

Both of these beach towns will see plenty of tourism, and surfers, in the summer. Ericeira to me is prettier with a greater variety of things to do.

I think this is a great itinerary. You're hitting spots lots of us have not yet visited. I, for one, hope you do a trip report. I've never been to Manteigas or Baleal and would love to hear about your experiences. Good travels!
