We will be travelling by car in the Douro Valley in the middle of October. Can anyone recommend a Quinta accommodation?

I’ve stayed at Quinta de la Rosa a couple of times and loved it. It’s right outside of Pinhão and while there, you can easily do a two hour boat ride on the Douro - which has always been enough for me. The Quinta has a nice tour of the winery with tastings and a great restaurant. It’s more reasonably priced than a lot of other Quinta’s. And, lastly, they have recently added a grape stomping event but not certain if it’s still happening that late in the fall.
I’ve recommended it so much, I may need to ask them for a commission!

Take the train. It’s inexpensive and has good views for part of the way. Taxis wait for trains to arrive in Pinhao. Once I contacted the Quinta to ask about a driver and booked it ahead of time.
