Hi all! My partner and I are flying from Denver to Lisbon, with a connection in Toronto, in a few weeks. My understanding is that in order to enter Portugal we need a PCR/NAAT test 72 hours before boarding, or a rapid antigen/TRAg test 24 hours before boarding. This may be a stupid question, but if we get tested within 72 hours before boarding our flight in Denver, that counts for both the Denver/Toronto flight and the Toronto/Lisbon flight, right? I mean, technically, our flight to Lisbon is the one leaving from Toronto, so do we need to worry about timing things so that we're being tested no longer than 72 hours before that flight? Or is it understood that when you're making a connecting flight you can't really test at the airport, and they all count as one continuous flight? Thank you!
If fully vaccinated no more test is require to enter Canada. We flew to Lisbon on Air Canada 3 weeks ago and showed our rapid test and were told by the agent that no testing is require anymore to enter Portugal. This is not clear at all on the portuguese website. If flying with Air Canada give them a call, expect a long wait on the phone. As far as I understand the 24h window is from when your flight leaves Toronto.
I’ve been watching this closely as our Portugal trip is approaching. Portugal doesn’t recognize US CDC cards so testing is still required. As long as you’re on one ticket straight though, my understanding is that it’s 72 hours/24 hours before your original Denver flight.
Martine, are you saying the Air Canada agent said the test was no longer required, or was it the customs/immigration agent in Portugal?
