I have been trying to purchase a ALSA bus ticket form Porto to Santiago with no luck. Tried several credit cards (VISA and MC) and Paypal. The reply I get is unable to process. Anyone know the trick?
what day and time?
We are looking at the 13:00 departure from the Porto airport. Arriving in Santiago at 18:15. On the 9th of November. The website post a 15 Euro ticket on way.
For a Spain trip I only booked my ticket 3 weeks ahead. I wonder if it is too soon?
I have emailed ALSA. Hopefully they might help.
Thanks!
It might just be too early. Certainly I've never bought a bus ticket more than a few days ahead of time--though you're smart not to wait until the date of travel to buy tickets for cross-border buses.
This could also be an issue with your credit card. I'd try calling the 800 number on the back of each card and advising that you're getting ready to make a purchase from a Spanish website. However, the fact that PayPal also failed suggests to me that you're probably just too early.
Incidentally, PayPal defaults to charging you in US dollars, at a poor exchange rate. Read the screen carefully and you'll find a link that will allow you to process the transaction in euros, which will be a bit cheaper for you.
