Public Transportation from Evora to Nazare and to Coimbra

Hello,
I was wondering what is the quickest and the easiest option (using public transportation) to travel from Evora to Nazare and from Nazare to Coimbra. We like to travel early in the morning usually the first or second bus or train. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help

Hi
Nazare does not have a train station, the closest one is in Valado and it's messy to get there.
You will need to transfer between 5 trains.
Evora station - Lisboa Sete Rios station - Agualva Cacem station - Mira Sintra Melecas station - Caldas da Rainha station - Valado station and then a taxi to Nazare.

The bus is easier, `you will need to transfer only once.
Evora bust station - Lisboa Sete Rios bus station - Nazare bus station.

From Nazare to Coimbra it's only one bus.
Nazare bus station - Coimbra bus station.

Happy travels

You really need a car for Evora to Nazare, as a 3 hour drive becomes a 6-7 hour journey by public transport via Lisbon. Nazare IMO is one of RS’s overrated recommendations in Portugal.

I will add to Jennifer’s comment about Nazaré. Unless you are going to see the monster waves in the winter, there is no real reason to go. Plus, it’s the one place you mention that is a pain with public transportation. If you want a coastal town, there are many within a short ride from Lisbon - either toward Cascais - or across the Tejo.

a followup question...
If we were to bypass Nazare, what is the best way to get from Evora to Coimbra using public transportation?

I visited Coimbra and Nazare in May 2018, and I really loved Nazare. (Nothing to do with the waves.) It does have kind of a tacky-touristy feel, but it also felt much more laid back than other towns I had visited I spent only a few hours in Nazare and really wished I had spent at least a night.

I spent two nights in Coimbra and on the spur of the moment decided to bus down to Nazare for a few hours one of the afternoons. I looked exhaustively ahead of time at the train vs. bus connections, and even though I love trains and don't mind complications, the bus was just soooo much easier that I took it instead. (In Coimbra, the train is a lot easier the little "Coimbra A" station is right at the town center, whereas the bus station is a ways away.) The bus worked out fine - comfortable enough, though no matter what, I still dislike long bus rides.
