Problems w/ bus from Seville to Lagos

Hello,

We will be traveling from Ronda, Spain to Lagos, Portugal on Friday, October 2, 2015. It looks like we can get from Ronda to Seville (Prado station), transfer to Plaza de Armas station and then take another bus from Seville to Lagos.

I am having trouble buying tickets online. ALSA says there are no buses from Seville to Lagos. I have better luck finding info on eva-bus.com, but when I go to purchase tickets I am sent to Movelia and then my card does not work. Grr!

Perhaps I can buy them in person. I assume it will not be a problem to buy bus tickets from Ronda to Seville a day in advance. But we would be buying tickets from Seville to Lagos just a few hours before the bus leaves, and that makes me uncomfortable.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Much appreciated!!

Hi Mary,
Last year my daughter and I went on buses from Portugal to Spain. I too had trouble getting a ticket via credit card. I heard that MasterCard might work better than a visa. I didn't have a MasterCard at that time.
In Coimbra, bought bus ticket to Salamanca, Spain. They only took cash (50 euros / person). Then I went from Salamanca to Granada. In Salamanca, I went one day in advance to buy the tickets. I had to use both of their bus lines. One from Salamanca to Madrid and the other Madrid to Granada. One was cash only and the other took my Visa. From Granada to Sevilla was my final bus trip. I didn't purchase a ticket in advance. I was lucky they had several buses going.
You might get lucky and they might have several buses going throughout the day from Seville to Lagos.

I believe that there are two bus stations in Seville. Please check which station goes to Lagos. If I am remembering correctly, they were in opposite directions.
Good luck on your travels.

I strongly doubt you will have any problem pre-purchasing the Ronda to Seville bus with Amarillos the day before at the station. Few locally will be pre-purchasing early. If I recall correctly there are three or four journeys before midday.
ALSA buses do service Lagos from Seville directly, but possibly not on your day. Again I will be surprised if you do not travel on the EVA bus if you have arrived in Seville early afternoon, but your fall back is the ALSA bus to Faro and bus or train from there to Lagos.

Does this cover it? All off the top of my head and makes sense to me. Down to you to verify if all journeys and fall back connect efficiently.
