private Tour guide in Lisbon, Portugal

We have tried to get a private tour guide for ourselves and finally found one group that has an opening. The price quoted seems expensive to us so, we are not sure we should book with them. I did find a local guide option. Does anyone have experience with local guide.com?

What's the price? Is it for an entire day? I did a couple of group tours this past March for about $100 each.

I have not heard of localguide.com.

Cristina and Pedro have a local tour company called Lisbon and Beyond. Cristina (Duarte) is a Rick Steves guide and leads tours of Portugal. In October 2019, we took a four hour walking tour of Lisbon with Pedro. A wonderful guide and an excellent experience. I don't recall the cost but, considering the vintage of our experience, I suspect it would no longer be relavent.

Check the Rick Steves Portugal book for local guides. He lists several. We also used Cristina Duarte from the book and enjoyed our day with her which was the Sintra area versus Lisbon. The Eating Europe food tours in Lisbon are very good if you’re looking for something that’s not quite as expensive as the private guides.

I toured the Jeronimos Monasterio with Rick Steves Portugal guide Rafael Pereira. I was alone, but Rafael did not cancel because of that, which I so appreciated, He is a terrific guide. This tour allowed me to skip the lines. If in Lisbon again, I will definitely hire Rafael. [email protected]

We are scheduled to take a private tour of Lisbon with Pedro from Lisbon and Beyond this coming June. Their website was easy to find and Cristina responded quickly to our email inquiry about availability and price. Found them in the RS Guidebook.
