Looking for private drivers in Porto area of Portugal to bring us to Viana do Costelo and one to bring us from Bilbao to San Sebastián. May even consider for from Viana do Costelo to Santiago. We have used mydaytrip and loved them, but prices seem high for an hour ride.
Why not just take the train?
I can look at the train…
Good idea, that seems like the easiest option. Between Bilbao and San Sebastian/Donostia there are also buses.
The bus is a better option than the train between Bilbao and San Sebastian unless you have extra time. The train ride is scenic but much longer.
We need a way to get places with stops in between e.g Porto to Viana do Costelo and Viana do Costelo to Santiago. We would need luggage secured at the stops.
So what you're actually looking for is a place to store luggage in Viana do Costelo?
e would need to drive from Porto to Viana do Costelo and want to stop in Barcelos (this is where we would need luggage to be safe); the when we continue on to Santiago the next day, we need luggage to be safe when we make the two stops to sightsee on the way.

We were thrilled with the service we received thru her company (now many years ago), for a full day of private transport from Granada, with a stop in Ronda, then Gibraltar (where she arranged the most wonderful private tour guide who showed us exactly what we wanted to see and more within our specified time frame.....seems I recall he was the recently retired police chief or something like that), then on to Old Town Marbella.
You can also see reviews on TripAdvisor and her web site.
Communication was excellent during our planning before we left the US, .excellent with follow-up the day prior to when the driver was to meet us (we were coming from Barcelona by air), then follow-up to make sure we were pleased. The driver spoke excellent English and was very attuned to our needs and making sure we were pleased.
Enjoy your trip!
The Internet and apps are amazing help for planning...
I use the app Rome2Rio to help me figure out transportation between locations. It provides prices, time in transit and directions to the trains, buses and so on... You can build your trip for the stops along the way.
That said, your trip from Porto to Viana do Castelo shows the train is just over an hour -- for up to $12 per person. The bus is about as fast and costs about the same. A taxi would be 50 minutes and about $55...
Bilbao to San Sebastian shows the train is 2 hours 40 minutes for up to $8, and a taxi is an hour for about $110.
A car service is certainly convenient in terms of door-to-door delivery. But I often prefer the train because it's another travel experience.
I use Stasher for luggage storage, but here's an article that evaluates a bunch of options... https://www.valisemag.com/luggage-storage-apps/...
