My wife and I want to take a segway tour in Lisbon (and maybe Porto). Should we prebook these or plan to book day of? Also, does anyone have any advice on the Sailor Tour vs the Medieval Tour in Lisbon on Segway? Thanks!
I have never taken a segway tour, I prefer walking and getting the exercise, but I don't remember seeing any seaways in either Lisbon or Porto. Porto, especially is very hilly, not sure how a segway would operate well there.
Rick Steven has some great walking tours of Lisbon in his book.
there are Segway tours in about every city, including Lisbon and Porto.
If you will be there during high season I would prebook. You can cancel with no charge up to 24 hrs in advance - I would imagine you could change the date as well with no problem.
Sorry - no clue on the different tours
To my eye, segway tours look terrible in historic neighborhoods. Do you really want to experience a fascinating city laid out on a medieval footprint while skimming along on an electric cart? The Alfama and nearby neighborhoods are rapidly changing from residential neighborhoods to artificial playgrounds for tourists. To me, segway tours seem disrespectful.
If you have mobility limitations, take the street car (tram 28) or hire a cab. If you are in at least fairly good shape, walk the hills and slow down to smell the sardines. Sit in a cafe and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine, and maybe even meet a local resident.
