How difficult will it be to find last minute overnight stays in Obidos, Nazare and Coimbra areas in October? We have five days to drive around this area of Portugal but don't necessarily want to book an overnight in advance.

My guess is you shouldn’t have much of a problem. In Nazaré and Óbidos the hotels are smaller so you may need to go door to door to find one. Before going over I’d bookmark some on Google maps so you can go straight to them rather than wandering around town blindly looking for one.
