Portugal with acid reflux

I have terrible acid reflux and worry I won't be able to eat without feeling sick. Any advice on finding food without the triggers below?
Garlic
Onion
Tomatoes
Vinegar
Citrus
Anything remotely spicy

Eek. I knew nothing about Portuguese food, and was surprised at how much had garlic.

I would consider getting apartments and cooking. I was doing an elimination diet for acid reflux when a friend visited and we went out to eat. I had a hard time ordering anything. I ended up with some bland not so good fish. Avoiding garlic and onion in particular was difficult.

I suffer from GERD also and was prescribed a daily morning dose of Omeprazole DR 20 mg. Wait at least 15" before eating and have had little problems since

BTW, Ola from Lisboa!

Haha, I live in portugal and all the above are the basic diet here. If you don't like garlic or can't have it, consider visiting the uk, id say! They do have lovely fresh veg here but menu choices are not geared towards veggies other than fresh salads with tomatoes and onions with olive oil and white wine vinegar. Unless you go to swanky new trendy places. You should probably consider omoprozole.
