Hello all.
trying to find out the regions most affect by these fires. I know Vouzela in the Viseu region is affected. What other areas are involved ? Is there a map that summarizes the areas affected.
Thanks,
Bill

There are a number of other areas that have been affected but I believe all are rural - at least in the Lisbon area of Portugal. There were a number of fires east of Coimbra. I saw a map yesterday on my Facebook page that I now can’t find. If I can find it, I will send you the link.
The good news is that it actually rained last night (at least in Cascais) and weather forecasts indicate good chances for rain in a lot of Portugal over the next few days. I’m going to Coimbra tomorrow, so can let you know if I see any burned areas between Lisbon and there.
Hello Bill,
I'm Portuguese and I can tell you that the most affected areas are located in the Centre and North of Portugal, from the coastline to the countryside... Leiria, Coimbra and Porto regions are the most affected districts but Lisbon and Viana do Castelo too. You can check this map to get a general picture of the affected areas - fortunately, almost all of them are extinguished. Thank you rain!!!
Thank you both for the information !!
How wonderful to get reports with real time info.
We are trying to decide on booking a trip in the spring and want to see which areas of your beautiful country will be affected.

A quick update. We took the train from Lisbon to Coimbra today. There was zero signs of fires - either current or past. It continues to be rainy in central Portugal so hopefully this horrible fire season is at an end.
