Portugal Trip in November

Hi! This is my first list and excited to get your input. We are going to Portugal and Spain in November. Planning on staying 3 nights in Lisbon and 2 in Porto. Then looking to go to Madrid, Barcelona and visit the island of Ibera. Thoughts on this itinerary? Would also like a recommendation on where in Porto to stay? We like Bed and Breakfast places but need help determining where in Porto to look.

We are planning on flying into Lisbon for 3 nights, 2 nights in Porto and then head to Spain, thinking about 2 nights in Madrid and then flying to the Ibiza island for 2 nights and end in Barcelona for 2 nights (we already have tix to a Barcelona soccer game). We are interested in seeing the sites that have to do with the customs and history.

You don't give us a lot of information in order to help you. We really can't give you an opinion of your itinerary unless we have more information.

How many nights on the ground is this trip?
What are your interests? Museums, art, history, food, nature, architecture?
Do you mean the island of Ibiza?
How many nights are you planning on staying in Madrid, Barcelona, and the island?

I like the Ribeira neighborhood of Porto. I very much enjoyed walking along the river in the evenings and listening to the music. Take a look at InPatio Guest House. They only have a couple of rooms, so you would need to reserve early.

Way too much moving around IMO. Remember two nights is really one day in the destination. Trying to do Portugal, Madrid, Barcelona and Ibiza in such a short time frame will end up with no time to actually enjoy the places you visit. Or, since you have tickets to a futebol game, either do Portugal then fly to Barcelona. Or, stay in Spain the entire time. 11 nights is barely enough time to scratch the surface of either country.

I’d think about skipping the Ibiza part. You will waste so much time travelling when you only have a few nights. I don’t know if you have a specific reason for going, but obviously the tourist season is completely over by November so many things won’t be open.

Thank you for all your suggestions. We are now thinking of just doing Lisbon, Porto, Madrid and Barcelona. I know it’s still not enough time but want to try and see these 4 cities. How would you recommend getting from Porto to Madrid? Thx for the suggestion on the part of town to stay in Porto, but what parts would you suggest for Madrid and Barcelona?
