My Husband and I are traveling to Portugal in September. We definitely want to spend some time exploring Lisbon and would like to visit a few other places. However we cannot decided between visiting Cascias or Albufeira? Any feedback would be helpful.

I've been researching a trip to Lisbon and Cascias after hearing about my friends' trip there.
Look them both up on Youtube. The short films are great.

Cascais is a 15 minute (approx.) train ride from Lisbon while Albufera is about a 4 hour drive, if I am remembering well. You could do a day trip to the former and a longer visit to Albufera.
