Portugal October/November

Greetings.

I would be grateful for any thoughts on what I hope are
some easy to answer questions:

Going to Portugal: Faro--Lisbon--Porto--Santiago (and places
in between). Have 10 days. About weather:

I have researched the weather in Portugal before resorting to
bother people here, but I have not found definitive information
(just lots of completely contradictory information, plus
exactly opposite suggestions on many points).

--Question: during mid/late October, what to expect in regard to
weather for sea and air? Is the ambient higher temp. (in, say, Lisbon) be
not hot (but tolerable, for someone hating hot weather) but also
not too wintry (for spouse who wants sun and warmth)?

--Question: what about swimming? Will the water be warm enough for
comfortable swimming, assuming one goes to a good beach in a good
place (i.e. in the greater Faro area....I presume Lisbon too cold?)

--Last question: could anyone point me in the right direction for trip planning
so as to be able to see some of the majestic bird migration? Can't find specific projected
times this year for when/where to go for best effect....it seems mid-October
is not too late, though it rapidly becomes so as we grind into November?
And as I am asking about birds, any off hand tips about birding in Portugal
in the autumn?

Any assistance is appreciated.

It isn’t hot in mid/late October but normally we stated getting some rain about that time. I’ve always been told September is the best time to swim because the water is warmer, especially in the Algarve. With that logic, it would be a bit cooler in mid October. The water isn’t ever really warm, btw.

There is a bird watching area across the Tejo from Lisbon but I don’t know the time of year.
And, as said earlier - that’s way too many places to visit in ten days.
