Hi - looking to think through an itinerary for ~2 weeks in Portugal; we plan to fly in to Lisbon, stay there a couple of days, take the train to Porto for a few days, back to Lisbon, then rent a car and drive down to the Algarves, stay centrally there so we can do some side trips. We also want to consider a trip to Seville either for the day or for an overnight. Slightly considering continuing in to Spain and up to Barcelona, but not a must as we have been there. Would love thoughts/experiences from those of you who may have done similar. We plan to go last week of September into mid-October 2024. Thanks!

We have found that it’s more efficient to not split our days in one town. If possible it might be better to go directly to Porto when you arrive and keep your Lisbon time in Lisbon in one block. Do you plan to return the car in Lisbon? If so, you might want to keep your Lisbon nights for the end.
