Portugal Itinerary - Evora Two Nights or Extra Night in Lisbon?

First time trip to Portugal. I have us down for 1 night in Evora after we spend our first 3 nights in Lisbon. However, I now need to add another night somewhere in between - should I add another night in Evora or make it 4 nights in Lisbon, perhaps adding a day trip to Sintra or Caiscais? Is Evora a destination worth spending 2 nights?

Are you driving?

You could easily spend 5 nights in Lisbon including day trips to Cascais and Sintra plus 2 nights in Evora. I would add the time to Lisbon.

I have been to Evora and 1 night is great. Three nights are fine in Lisbon. Make sure you include going to Belem on one of your days. The other days should be dedicated to sites within Lisbon. So much to see there.
I know that Sintra can be visited from Lisbon, but I am planning on staying there next time I travel there.
I have a couple of places in Sintra that I want to see early in the morning.
I have gone to the Pena Palace twice and have loved it. Loved the little town area there. Great farmer's market and restaurants.
I have also gone to Caiscais, easy 30 minute train ride from Lisbon. Very cute. Spent half the day there.

Enjoy your adventure!

Tough question. Only spent one night in Evora and loved it. I would probably add an extra night to Lisbon tho' and daytrip to Sintra. It's a great location with so many attractions there. We also loved Cascais as we spent a lot of time there as we were staying there with friends. If your time is limited, don't miss Sintra.

We will have a car for our drive from Lisbon to Evora. After Evora we are planning a drive north to Coimbra.

Our spring Portugal itinerary was as follows:
3 nights Lisbon, 2 nights Sintra, 2 nights Torres Novas near Tomar, 3 nights Evora, 2 nights Seville, 3 nights Burgau, 2 nights Faro. I have two thoughts: 1) Sintra sights may not be seen on a day trip without crowds, crowds are decreased in am and pm. Incomum Aroma for lunch and dinner 2) Evora itself can be done as a day trip from Lisbon but if it is the surrounding sights you would like to visit than stay more than 1 night. Depending on your route choice Evora to Coimbra could be a long drive if you choose to stop. NE of Evora has some interesting sites. Driving in Portugal goes well.

As a general rule I wouldn't spend 2 nights in Evora as 1 day is likely to be enough to visit all the relevant places.

Add the extra night somewhere else. Cascais, Sintra, Coimbra, Aveiro, Guimarães or Braga. If you were adding more than 1 night I'd also recommend the Algarve.

I'm going to be the outsider here, but I was in Lisbon last week and visited Evora for half a day. I honestly felt it was a waste of time and would have preferred to stay in Lisbon instead. But since I had timed bus tickets I didn't want to spend money on a new ticket. I just didn't see anything super appealing about the town and the Roman ruins were all covered up.
