Portugal in June itinerary questions

My husband and I are traveling in early June to Portugal. We have 9 full days in and out of Lisbon. We're experienced travelers big on culture and history and food, but have had an exhausting spring, so we're not looking to move around too often, get up early every day, or spend too much time in transit. And we're desperate from some lazy beach time.
Current thinking:

  • Straight from airport to Sesimbra. (Seems like a taxi / car is the way to go -- we'll have a lot of luggage from 2 months in Austria)
  • 3 nights in Sesimbra.
  • Go from Sesimbra to Evora (maybe by hiring a car service/ taxi and stopping at Castelo de Palmela).
  • Spend that night and the next in Evora (so 1 full day and an afternoon in Evora)
  • Head by public transit to Lisbon for the rest of the trip (with one daytrip to Sintra). (So 5 nights, 4.5 days in Lisbon).

Feedback on this plan? Any advice on Lisbon neighborhoods to stay? And any suggestions on arranging drivers?
Thanks!!

Evora is really nice, but be aware it will be very hot in June. It’s in the hottest area of the country. Other than that, your itinerary looks good to me.
And, yes, a car is really needed IMO, in Sesimbra. I would suggest driving to Evora from Sesimbra. A private driver will be very expensive. Provided there are no drop off fees.
In Lisbon, Baixa, Chiado and Cais do Sodré would be my choices for neighborhoods.
