We are a hardy family of four, older teen kids. Can we tour the Azores as well as Lisbon and the environs of Porto, or is that too much?
Depends on your interests...i can email my PDF Azores guide to you if you give me your email address. Look it over to see if the main island of Sao Miguel has what you are looking for. Visiting the Azores is totally different than visiting the mainland, including Lisbon and Porto. 4-5 days/nights in Sao Miguel and the rest split between Lisbon and Porto would make a very memorable trip!
It would be better if you flew into the Azores then onto Portugal or vice versa to save time backtracking. I would suggest that you need a week for the Azores.
I presume this is for June 2018? Places in Europe are getting booked up if it is for this June.
We have visited the Azores twice, both times on transatlantic cruises. We visited the island of Sao Miguel. It is a beautiful island with interesting unusual plants and scenic.
We did a different tour each time we visited, covering different parts of the island. I would suggest that in two days you can see most of Sao Miguel. The Azores are a considerable distance from the mainland. A visit there would be interesting, unless the airfare is expensive.
