We are planning our first trip to Portugal in September/October 2019 for a duration of about 2 weeks. We will spend about 5 days in Lisbon. We are looking for a second home base location near 2 or 3 interesting day trip options. Looking for someplace with a walkable old town, photogenic, with plenty of restaurant and hotel options.
We like photography, local culture, historical buildings/ruins, archaeology museums. We are not interested in wine, beaches, nightlife. We are interested in walking tours, but not strenuous hiking. We are not interested in driving, but are interested in hiring a guide/driver.
