When we have visited Ireland, Wales, Scotland, England, we have found British Heritage, CADW passes, etc. to be convenient and economical. Is there an equivalent pass for Portugal that allows access to historic homes, historic sites and castles for a reduced cost? Can it be purchased from the States in advance and then activated once we arrive in Portugal? I have seen the Lisboa and Porto passes, but they seem to be limited to those cities and we will be traveling extensively outside those locations.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Hi, I have been in Lisbon and Salema for the past 6 days. I have also checked the Tourism Portugal website, unfortunately Portugal does not have an equivalent to the Heritage pass. The Lisboa card and Viva Viagen transport card are both well worth purchasing for use in Lisbon.
Here are a couple of links I found on the Portugal Tourism website. one is a virtual tour of Portugal's UNESCO world Heritage sites. The second is a 'Cultural heritage of Algarve ' booklet they produced, it is excellent and very extensive. Portugal is wonderful!
