Portugal COVID-19 Entry Requirements for Cruises

What are the COVID-19 entry requirements for cruises arriving in Portuguese ports? We are stopping in Lisbon 12-Dec-21.

Thanks

Ask your cruise line - presumably they won’t be able to dock unless you have complied with their entry requirements, so they will know what’s required. Procedures could of course change before your trip!

Hank, I totally understand wanting to know this in advance, but it just isn't possible at this point for December. I do know that if passengers would not be able to leave the ship due to Covid restrictions, the cruise line would probably change the itinerary. If testing was required while you were on the cruise, your cruise line would make it available.

Some ports over the summer handled some of these issues by requiring disembarking cruise passengers to participate in specific shore excursions that limited their contact with the local population. This requirement has been going away and passengers have more freedom in ports.

Most cruises are requiring vaccination and testing prior to initial embarkation. I imagine that plays into how they are accepted in each port.

I encourage to check your cruise line's safety page about 1 time a week from now until the cruise. If there are any changes in what is required of you, that is where it will be posted.

NCL website is remarkably convoluted regarding their safety protocols. You could spend days there before getting close to the correct answer. Their main section is called Sail Safe. Digging down further, I found this: https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/travel-requirements-by-country

Portugal isn't specifically listed. The important part is your embarkation port, which I doubt would be in Portugal. The website does say that they will send notification of changes to entry requirements 10 days before a cruise, and if additional testing is required.
