We’re embarking on a cruise next October from Lisbon and looking to spend several days in Portugal before the cruise begins
A few years ago, we spent 3 weeks traveling around Portugal, heading N from Lisbon to Porto, Douro Valley, central Portugal, Evora and back to Lisbon
We have not been South of Evora and thought of heading South to the Algarve, but it gets terrible reviews from RS, and we’re not resort, beach, party people!
Any ideas for a base ti explore S Portugal, or should we head back North?
Hello,
South of Evora you have several beautiful cities like Beja, Mertola and Aljustrel, all with a relaxed atmosphere and a mix of history and culture.
The Algarve is also beautiful even if you are not a beach party person. Tavira, Lagos and Portimao are definitly worth seeing but these areas wont take too long so you could then spend some time going up the coast on the way to Lisbon and enjoy amazing areas.
Hope you get to enjoy Portugal...
