Two 70+ couples (USA) traveling together for 3 weeks in Portugal in September 2024 are planning approx 1 week in Porto (perhaps a night at a Douro Quinta), 1 week in Lisbon with Sinatra and Cascais, and 1 week in the Algarve region.
We request your advice for clean & scenic view apartments with safe walkable neighborhoods and good transportation connections for seeing the nearby sights.
We want to stay 4, 5, or even 7 nights in the same apartment if possible. We can drive, but prefer to hire a driver or small group tours when available.

We use booking.com for rental search and use the filters, location, apartment, bedrooms, kitchen, etc, to narrow it down.
Once we have a list of rentals from booking we use Google maps satellite and street view to look at the location, is it uphill, street parking, public transit, restaurants nearby and a overall look - does the area look run down etc.
