We are planing a 2 day overnight in Pinhao in October. Is it possible to travel to pinhao by boat and return to porto by train? Suggestions on tour operator please.

You may want to look at reversing your planned trip. It's faster by boat going from Pinhao to Porto, as that's downstream. Pinhao is a pretty small place; you can walk the whole town in a couple hours. Most of the wine is too sweet for me, but the Super Bock beer is really nice. Find a place down by the river and you can snack and watch the world go by.

Hello, I would not recommend the whole way from Porto to Pinhao or Pinhao Porto with a cruise, it can get very monotonous. I would rather recommend taking a shorter boat cruise from Pinhao, that's where the iconic views of the vineyard are. You can go to/from Porto by train.
