Porto to Lisbon by train

When taking the train from Porto to Lisbon, is it possible to get off at the stop in Coimbra and spend a few hours touring and then continue on to Lisbon? Are there lockers in the train station where you can leave small suitcases?

Short answer is no.
The AP and IC trains between Lisbon and Porto have reserved seats, you'll need two separate tickets if you're getting off in Coimbra.
