Hi All,
Looking for advice for towns to overnight in for a nine night trip. Flying in to Porto and out of Lisbon in late September. Planning on having a rental car between Porto & Lisbon. Don't want to change cities & hotels everyday, value quality over quantity, getting off of the beaten track, being adventurous, appreciate the countryside and smaller towns & villages. We're fine with doing a moderate amount of walking and are reasonably in good fit, condition. For reference, we've enjoyed a good amount of time in small villages in Tuscany & Provence and have seen our share of big cities, cathedrals and monuments.
Considering the following towns in which to overnight, with the ability to take some short day trips:
Porto: 2 nights, Coimbra: 2 nights, Obidos: 2 nights, Lisbon: 3 nights.
